Today’s Edition Is Open To All — So You Can Win Faster
We’re opening this full coaching breakdown to everyone. Why? So you can feel the weekly ParTalk flow: fresh tour story → clear drills → real strokes saved.
If you want to break 90/80, hit more greens from 100 m, and cut three-putts, this is the kind of issue that gets you there. If it helps, go paid and get this level of coaching every week.
What Happened (Simple Recap)
Finish: Aaron Rai beat Tommy Fleetwood on the first extra hole at Yas Links. Both finished –25 in regulation.
Rory’s charge: Rory McIlroy fired a 62—his lowest DP World Tour round—getting to –24 and missing the playoff by one. He made five in a row on the back nine.
Big picture: Rai takes a Rolex Series crown and momentum into Dubai; Fleetwood’s form stays elite; Rory strengthens his Race to Dubai push.
Why This Matters For Your Game
Sunday trophies come down to two trainable skills: start lines with the putter and stock wedge control under pressure. That’s what we’re drilling below.
That’s exactly what today’s three drills build—and if you want this kind of coaching every week, ParTalk membership gets you there.
The Playoff, In One Minute
They replayed 18.
Rai’s tee-to-green was steady, then he poured in the birdie. Fleetwood’s season stays world-class, but this finish belonged to Rai.
Rory’s 62: A Low-Score Blueprint
Rory’s card: fast start (birdie–eagle from 9 feet), a back-nine heater (five straight red numbers), and dead-center speed on putts.
The lesson: pick a centered target off the tee, swing one tempo on wedges, and match putt speed to the picture.
That’s how you build runs of red numbers.
Coach’s Plan You Can Use This Week
1. Two Stock Wedges, Not Ten
Pick two stock distances inside 100 m (example: 75 m and 50 m).
Same ball position, same tempo; change only backswing length (think 9 o’clock and 7 o’clock).
Track carry only. Land it past the front number.
This strips guesswork and sets up birdie putts when it counts—the same approach that helps simple golf tips work better for every skill level.
2. Start-Line Gate For Pressure Putts
At home, place two tees a ball-width apart 40 cm in front of the ball.
Roll 10 putts through the gate.
Miss left/right = face not square at impact.
Builds the exact skill that wins playoffs: start it where you aim. This drill alone can help you stop three-putting in high-pressure moments.
3. A Simple Heat Routine
When the moment gets loud (last three holes, match on the line):
One breath: in 4, out 4.
One cue: tempo or hold the finish.
One target: a small spot, not the whole fairway/green.
Use it before every approach inside 130 m. Mastering your mental golf game is just as important as physical technique.
Break-90 Starter (4 Weeks)
Use any two practice days per week.
Week 1 — Fairway Finder
3-wood or hybrid only. 10 balls to a single target. See the miss, adjust aim, not swing.
Week 2 — Wedge Windows
30 balls split between your two stock numbers. Log carry. Tighten dispersion.
Week 3 — Lag Speed
20 putts from 9–12 m. Goal: finish inside 60 cm past the hole. Count tap-ins.
Week 4 — Up-and-Down
18 reps: chip to a 2 m circle, then hole the putt. Target 6+/18 conversions.

Dubai Preview (Fast Hits)
Rai: Rolex Series win and a big jump heading into Dubai—confidence high.
Fleetwood: more proof he’s one of the steadiest closers of 2025.
Rory: that 62 strengthens his Race to Dubai position right before the points jackpot.
